1. why was Haiti such a mess before the earthquake, with regards to health? how could so many NGOs, GHIs, and uni- and multi-lateral programs f#^& up so royally that health indices are actually worse than when they landed in 1950 (I.S. Falk)?

2. how are discourses of (inter)national security being deployed to frame health care interventions?

3. how is all of this being perceived by Haitians, themselves?

4. what do Haitians want from their health care? do they want a system? what kind of system would they like?

5. how can NGO’s (etc) be used to provide a comprehensive and cohesive program rather than disparate, uncoordinated, disharmonious care?

6. what do their directors think of this?

but more to the point – how do i begin to find these things out??? this is five year, 20 person project – not a 9 month, 1 person project…*sigh*…
