I have not been following celebrity news – beyond the 30 seconds i stand in line at the grocer’s. And while Charlie Sheen’s delightful photos and the teasing one-liners were mildly entertaining, it never occurred to me to actually read any of the tasty bits about his apparent emotional / mental breakdown / drug addiction / poly-amoury / twitter antics / fill-in-the-blank-celebrity-moment.

Until this morning.

As i slave under the weight of the Human Subjects application, laborously attempting to outline every detail of every aspect of my research project in Haiti (which has now been turned down five times by granting agencies), it occurs to me that my 20s might have been better-spent smoking crack, sleeping with hookers and tweeting about all of it while throwing public temper-tantrums.

He’s “teaming up” with Sean Penn in Haiti.
